Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky both had a great(p) influence on cognitive development part in Psychology. Both had great theories of how cognitive development works. They just had actually different ideas closely the way that children learned and grew mentally. There are definitely more losss than there are similarities in these theories.

The sensorimotor stage is amidst birth and about two years old. In this stage the child uses their senses and motor skills to try to understand and learn. The preoperational stage is about two to seven years old. The child is egocentric in this stage.
