Conrad is recognise as a master prose stylist. His narrative style and anti-heroic characters sop up influenced many writers, including Ernest Hemingway, D. H. Lawrence, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and more. Conrad lived an adventurous life, and a voyage down the chute of Venezuela would provide material for Nostromo, and the first mate of Conrads vessel became the transport for that novels hero.
