In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare we are given the character Macbeth who depicted with many dissimilar qualities. We first see Macbeth as being true-blue and firm but he quickly turns into a butcher as described by Malcolm. The behavior of Lady Macbeth contributes to Macbeths image and causes her to be perceived as a fi set aside like queen. Nearing the end of the play we find that Macbeths assassin like characteristics are swallowed up by feelings of guilt, also by his courage and pride. It is shown that Lady Macbeth has a weak personality as she commits suicide. We question Malcolms motives and consider if he was clouded by revenge when he describes Macbeth as a butcher.
At the start of the novel we are introduced by a battle scene were we find Macbeth being strong, brave and loyal to his country but soon we see the flaws in his character, which acknowledge his gullibility and his vaulting ambition. Macbeths loyalty and patriotism is evident when he kills the traitor Macdonald, he is called brave Macbeth, noble Macbeth and the King of Scotland calls him a worthy gentleman. However Macbeths confrontation with the witches brought upon curiosities that lead to gullibility, when he started to hope the prophecies that the witches had told him.
This gullibility as well as his ambition direct him to killing King Duncan, which he finds difficult to do. The thought of wrap up makes Macbeth start to loose his mind. Once the deed has been committed he feels a great sense of guilt, beginning to feel really insecure about his future. Macbeths loyalty and bravery quickly dour to insecurity and shame due to his naivety.
