The statue of liberty was given to the unify States all over a hundred years ago from France. This was given to the get together States in gratitude of becoming friends with France during the American Revolution. In 1924 it was declared a national monument. It celebrated its one hundred and twenty fifth birthday on October 28, 2011. The statues meaning has grown; it right off includes freedom and democracy as well as the friendship.
