A. Introduction

The term Domestic Violence did not come into use until the 1970s. Having firstly been used to address the fuss of wife battering, it now encompasses much more. Other terms normally used are, for example, spousal abuse and intimate partner abuse. in that respect are four major types of domestic violence. Firstly, there is sensible violence, which includes pushing, slapping, beating, and assault with a weapon. Secondly, sexual abuse, which covers a wide hunt of assaults including forced sexual intercourse, penetration with a foreign object, grabbing and fondling, oral sexual threats, and any other unwanted completed or attempted sexual contact. Thirdly, economic abuse, whereas the abuser denies the victim plan of attack to resources to which the victim is entitled such as education and employment. Lastly, mental abuse, which includes acts such as isolating the victim from contact with others, chagrin the victim, degrading the victim, and threatening to harm the victim or those contiguous to the victim (Encyclopedia of Social Work, 1998). Definitions of domestic violence in a legal context vary from state to state. Some states delimitate domestic violence to violence between a man and a woman living together, while others include ex-partners or family...

O probably would have include theories if I would know anything closely them. This was written for my intro to Human Services class - first year college - and I am now in my three semester and just now get into theories.


Just wanted to beg off why I didnt include them - simply because I didnt realize them (still only know very little).

Hey there i plan generally very well written


Also i would included with social workers use theories on how the worker may onward motion the person who has been a victim of domestic voilence (use theories as modeling to explain occurences etc why etc)

For example the systems theory which explains such things as systems which break down in this case for example a this theory may look at a save losing his job and his place in the family has changed feels out of place foiling>> leads to domestic voilence


Psychoanylis theory could also be used by the worker from another avenue of burn down seeing the offender and victem in couselling etc
