Bus101 Advising Assignment

In preparation for my advising session, I completed the Discover estimate and my results re aloney influenced what I talked about with my advisor. On my Discover estimate I had absolutely no options for a job in business and all of my options pointed towards an fraud major(ip). For my long term goal, I am aspiring to become a pastry chef and am visualisening to go to culinary school after I complete four years at UAB. After researching a bit on the required skills a pastry chef should lead I came to the conclusion that I might not be in the right major for me. The reason why I was taking Businessâ€"Management was because I also indigence to become an entrepreneur and open up my own bakeshop some day. Now, I feel like changing my major to Art and minoring in business management would make me active for a career as a pastry chef. I talked to my Advisor, Mrs. Pound, about my thoughts on changing my major and we decided to plan my schedule next semester as if I were an undeclared major and just focus on my core classes and include an art class in there as well, just to work through if I like it. If I do then Id either be able to switch all in all to an art major or create my own major as a combination of both art and business. Im really looking forward to next semester and hopefully Ill decide what major I want to copy then.

Pound and I also talked about my goals sheet from social function 1 of the Advising Assignment. I decided to strive for good grades in all of my classes, progress in my time management skills, meet weight, and become more organized. Of all the goals I had set, I had solely achieved one, organization. That doesnt mean that Im failing all my classes but it does mean that Im not fashioning the grades that I should/want to be making. Looking back on the time management assignment that we did a couple weeks ago, I have concluded that I am nowhere approximately my goal of having fine time management skills and I am struggling to work on that.
