On the morning of April 16 2010, a twenty six year old valet de chambre was dropped off at a Regina hospital with injuries so severe that he was al nigh unrecognizable. This man was later(a)r identified as Dustin Lafortune of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The man who dropped him off, known only as his cousin had fled before police force arrived. Over the next few weeks, as Lafortune became well bounteous to tell police and his family what happened to him, a horrifying story of pungent confinement and torture unfolded…
Dustin Lafortune had a not-so-average childhood, moving from household to place with his family and not having his father around for the majority of his bearing. But most of his childhood took place in Turtle Mountain, North Dakota, where Dustin lived on a reserve with his grandad Cree, his mother Renee, and his brothers Ryan and Rogi. Dustins grandfather was Native American, which meant Dustin and his brothers spent a lot of magazine alive(p) in traditional Native activities on the reserve. They learned to drum, sing traditional Native songs, and went to pow-wows.1 Dustin also had a natural talent for drawing, and his grandfather encouraged him to pursue this talent. By his early teens he was drawing realistic pictures of everything from car models, to caricatures, to wild life.
While the consider year is unknown, sometime later on in his late teens, Dustin and his family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dustin and his brothers eventually moved out on their own. In the year of 2000, Renee moved out to Vancouver, British Columbia. This was the last time Dustin saw his mother before being reunited with her ten eld later at a Regina hospital in life threatening condition.
Shortly after his mother moved away in 2000, Dustin moved in with his girlfriend Lindsay Airhart. Three years later in 2003, Dustin had a daughter with Lindsay named Aurora.
